Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha 8 or better) is commonly viewed as one of the most difficult but favored poker games. It’s a game that, even more than regular Omaha poker, aims for action from every level of players. This is the primary reason why a once irrelevant game, has increased in acceptance so quickly.

Omaha 8 or better begins like a regular game of Omaha. 4 cards are given out to every player. A sequence of wagering follows where gamblers can bet, check, or fold. Three cards are given out, this is known as the flop. One more round of wagering happens. Once all the gamblers have in turn called or folded, a further card is revealed on the turn. a further sequence of betting follows at which point the river card is revealed. The players will need to put together the best high and low 5 card hands based on the board and hole cards.

This is the point where some entrants get flustered. Contrasted to Hold’em, where the board can be everyone’s hand, in Omaha hi-low the player has to utilize exactly three cards from the board, and precisely 2 hole cards.
